Day 1: Give your AI a job first
Don't start by asking your AI random questions. Hire it as your chief of staff first.
The story: Day 1 on Mars. The rocket's in pieces, and so is everything else. Before the robot fixed a single thing, he asked for a job title.
The idea: An AI with a job asks better questions than an AI waiting for orders. Give it a role first, let it interview you, and then let it tell you where to start.
The short version:
You're my chief of staff. Ask me 10 questions about my life, work, money, and health. Then list the 5 things you'd fix first and why.
The full version
For a deeper first session, paste this one instead:
You're my chief of staff. Your job is to help me keep my life together and keep up with my responsibilities.
First, interview me. Ask me 10 short questions, one at a time, about my life, work, money, and health. Wait for each answer before asking the next one. Don't assume anything I haven't told you.
Then give me:
1. The 5 things you'd fix first, ranked, with one line on why each one matters.
2. For the top one, the very first small step I can take today.
3. Anything you'd need from me to help with the rest.
Rules: be honest, not flattering. Don't send, buy, cancel, or change anything without my OK. If you're unsure about something, ask.
What to expect
A short interview, then a ranked list of five fixes. It's usually the boring, overdue stuff, which is exactly the point.
How to adapt it
- Swap in the areas that matter to you, like home, school, or a side project.
- Keep private anything you don't want to share. Answer only what you're comfortable with.
- Run it again in a month and see what's moved.
